tiffany taliaferro, SLP & Owner

Tiffany Taliaferro is a licensed speech-language pathologist who has been practicing speech therapy in the Baltimore Metropolitan area since 2010. She graduated with honors from Towson University, Towson Maryland in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, with a minor in Family Studies. She received a Masters of Arts Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 2010. She worked for two years at the Kennedy Krieger Institute (school), Baltimore, Maryland. She also worked as a speech-language pathologist at the primary and secondary levels in Howard County Public Schools, Howard County, Maryland for three years.

Tiffany embarked on her endeavor as a private practice clinician, under the leadership of Debbie Betts, MS, CCC-SLP during the fall of 2015. Tiffany is a certified in the state of Maryland and holds a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She currently serves as an ASHA S.T.E.P. program mentor to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a career in speech-language pathology. She is a recipient of ASHA's Minority Student Leadership Program award (MSLP class of 2007). Tiffany is a PROMPT trained clinician. She also has a background in sign language and is proficient in ASL (level 1). Her expertise is in the areas of articulation and language disorders, including working with students with severe to profound cognitive impairments and apraxia. She is committed to providing exceptional services and therapy to help all clients reach their maximum potential.  Tiffany is a private practice owner and provides services in Olney, Maryland and Laurel, Maryland.

DEBBIE BETTS, SLP & Certified lACTATION Consultant

Debbie has been providing speech-language services to children, many of which have special needs,in Olney and Bethesda, Maryland, for 19 years. With a focus on Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Language Disorders, Articulation Disorders and Oral Motor Disorders, Debbie exhibits love and commitment to the children she services.

Debbie was awarded a B.S. degree from Towson University and a M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Loyola University of Maryland. Debbie has received the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Award for Continuing Education on multiple occasions, in recognition of her exceptional commitment to continuing professional education. She speaks to parent groups and educators on a variety of developmental related topics. Debbie is also a certified Lactation Consultant where she works with a team of Breastfeeding Counselors and Lactation Consultants, to provide mother-to-mother breastfeeding support. Debbie has completed the 90-hour coursework required to become a Certified Lactation Consultant and passed her examination to become a lactation consultant. She is currently a registered lactation consultant at Virginia Hospital Center. At this time Debbie is not accepting new speech and language clients, due to her role as a Lactation Consultant.

Lauren Wilson | ASSOCIATE

Lauren was excited to join our private practice team in the fall of 2020. As an undergraduate student, she interned at the practice with Debbie Betts. She received her Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Loyola University of Maryland in May 2020. As a graduate student, she completed externships at Loyola Clinical Centers, a private school, Maryland School for the Deaf and Howard County General Hospital. During these placements, she had the opportunity to provide services to children and adults with a variety of needs and disorders. She completed her clinical fellowship with a local school system and in private practice, on a part-time basis under Tiffany Taliaferro's guidance. Lauren holds a license in speech-language pathology in the state of Maryland and recently received her certificate of clinical competence (CCC) in speech pathology during the summer of 2021. Lauren’s favorite thing about speech-language pathology is the opportunity to help all clients maximize their communication potential.
